The step in front of us

Foundation this year. Build upward after the snow melts.

Manang has only a few workable construction months each year. In September--October 2026, the goal is to complete the Grand Café foundation. This is not about building a café first. It is about completing the retreat center's first verifiable construction stage so work can move directly upward after the snow melts next spring.

What this step unlocks

· Uses this year's limited construction season · Allows the next stage to begin immediately in spring · Gives the crew a first complete round of high-altitude construction

· Begins forming the retreat center's first shared daily-life function · Creates a testable, improvable foundation for later buildings

More importantly, this building takes the team through the actual Manang construction cycle: a short season, local crews, mountain materials, winter protection, and site management. Those lessons will carry directly into the retreat houses and later facilities.

More than one way to be part of it

You do not need to donate the first time you arrive here. Understanding the place, following the work, or carrying the story to someone else is also participation.

How large is the project?

The current first-phase estimate is US$607,000, including 21 retreat houses, the Grand Café, and water and basic infrastructure. This is not the total cost of the complete campus. Manang will take shape over many years. The current campaign addresses only the next milestone that can be completed and accounted for.

One construction fund, moving forward in stages

Support enters the same construction fund rather than being assigned to a particular stone or timber. Construction order may change with weather, materials, labour, and actual funds raised. Each stage proceeds only to the extent that it can responsibly be completed.

What we owe supporters is clear reporting: what was done, when it was done, what it cost, how it compared with the estimate, and what comes next.

Craft and labour

The money pays for these hands.

Much of the stone, timber, and slate is already in the mountains. What requires investment is the skilled labour that turns those materials into buildings. Local Manang members assist with site supervision, and local residents are engaged in construction monitoring and documentation.

Timing

Why funds must be prepared early

Approximately 2 months · review and processing for transfers from Taiwan

October · the Manang construction season approaches its end April--May 2027 · funds for the next construction season need to be in

Funds need to be prepared before snowmelt so work can begin immediately. If cross-border processing begins only in spring, a significant part of the short mountain construction season may already be gone by the time funds arrive.

How we report back

Participation does not end on the donation page. Photographs, expenditure, progress, and next steps will continue to be updated. We hope this is not a one-time request, but a process people can witness and walk with from stage to stage.

Ways to participate

Complete the step in front of us together.

We invite you to become part of this Vision. You can read, share, keep following the work, or support the construction now under way. Contributions of any amount are welcome; each contribution is entered into the construction record, with the stage of use, completed work, and remaining work reported over time.

Bank transfer or PayPal

Taiwan receiving and administrative entity

Oseling Meditation Center Taiwan serves as the Taiwan receiving and administrative entity for this campaign. Contributions enter the Manang construction fund and are transferred to Nepal in stages according to publicly stated construction milestones and actual site needs. Transfers, expenditure, corresponding Bills of Quantities (BoQ), and construction progress are recorded through the Progress page.

After a bank transfer, please email us the amount and the last five digits of the sending account. We will reconcile the payment within two business days and send an email confirmation.

Annual donation receipts are issued by the end of April each year. ECPay for credit cards and recurring contributions has been opened and website integration is in progress.

Tax note --- Taiwan

Oseling Meditation Center Taiwan is a legally registered association. Under current Taiwan Ministry of Finance rules, donations by individuals to legally registered educational, cultural, public-interest, or charitable institutions or organizations may in principle be claimed as itemized deductions, subject to a limit of 20% of gross consolidated income. Actual eligibility and deductible amounts remain subject to the law applicable in the year of donation and the determination of the relevant tax authority.

Voice ownership

Website narration states history, project facts, architecture, progress, and necessary transitions. Rinpoche's distinctive Vision and practice language should appear as direct quotations wherever the English transcript supports it. Do not introduce a quote with repeated phrases such as "Rinpoche says" if the block is already clearly attributed.

Current milestone --- single source of truth

The milestone shown on Home, Progress, and Support must reference one shared data source: target, amount raised, as-of date, supporter count, construction window, current status, and next step.

Meaning and evidence

The same event may appear twice if it serves different functions. Story explains people, meaning, and intention. Progress records dates, evidence, and completion status.

Contextual support exits

Every Deep Read and every Place subpage should end with a support or participation exit appropriate to the emotional tone of that page. Do not force the same "Donate Now" language everywhere.
